Coastal School of Nursing is an LPN school in Jacksonville, Florida that serves more than 100 nursing students annually across Duval County and provides concept-based courses. The school is accredited and offers a diploma in Practical Nursing for students seeking immediate employment. The school has opportunities for eligible Florida high school students, international students, veterans, and adults looking to complete their first-level nursing school education. Our Mission Statement

The Practical Nursing program supports the mission of the Florida Community School System and the mission of the Coastal School of Nursing. The faculty is committed to providing accessible, quality nursing education to meet the diverse and changing healthcare needs of the service area and to promoting the development of qualified graduates prepared for the professional role of the LPN at the entry-level. Graduates of this program meet the education requirements to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN).

Practical Nursing Program Philosophy

The philosophy of the Practical Nursing Program is derived from the faculty’s beliefs about the individual, environment, health, nursing practice, and education of the Practical Nurse. Within this mission, the goal of the nursing faculty is to promote the highest quality of nursing care to the individual, families, significant persons, and the community. The aim is to facilitate optimum health, quality of life, and achievement of potential for the individual.
